This publication has been produced by Military Instructor Pilots.
Just like you are contemplating, we were trained at the various single service cadet training institutions including the Australian Defence Force Academy.
All authors had more than 25 years individual experience in various arms of the military collectively consisting of significant operational squadron exposure to tactical transport, fast jet and rotary wing aircraft as well as extensive exposure to both basic and advanced Military aviation training both in the air and on the ground.
Each author gained more than 5000 military flying hours including at least 3000 airborne instructional hours on fixed and/or rotary wing military aircraft including postings to the RAAF Roulettes Formation Aerobatic Team.
Between us we have held supervisory and staff command positions as Ground Instructors at the Military Academies and Service Specific Officer Training facilities. Between us, we have instructed on CT4, CAP 10, Pilatus PC9 and BAE Systems Hawk. We have held executive positions at Basic Flying Training School (BFTS), Advanced Flying Training School (AFTS), Central Flying School (CFS) (where the ADF instruct the instructors) and Introductory Lead In Fighter Training where Hawk Lead in fighter training is accomplished.
We know the frustrations and uncertainty of getting information before approaching recruiting. We have been there. We were once in the exact position you are now. That’s why extensive research has gone into providing all the information that you will need to enhance your prospects of becoming a Military pilot by instructors who have previously provided that training. All that you will need is contained within our site. Good luck!
